There was a time when I was deeply into stand-up comedy, drawn to the raw, unfiltered connection with the audience that only live performance can bring. I spent countless nights honing my craft at open mics, navigating the highs of killer punchlines and the humbling silence that every comic faces at some point. It taught me the value of quick thinking, resilience, and finding humor even in the most unexpected moments. Comedy became not just a creative outlet, but a way to challenge myself and embrace the vulnerability of being on stage.

I had the privilege of helping organize and perform in an annual special comedy event, the Eric Shairs Comedy Night Fundraiser. The events featured talented comics like Juston McKinney, Dave Rattigan, Jeff Koen, and Mike Sciucco, all coming together for a great cause. Eric Shairs, good friend, a native of Beverly and Beverly High School graduate (Class of '92), suffered a life-changing accident in 2005 that left him paralyzed. The event was created to support his Recovery Fund, aiming to raise money for his ongoing recovery while sharing laughter with the community. It was an unforgettable night of comedy, unity, and giving back.
